About

Steven, Kelli, Kaci (10), and Selah (6) Shaddox are appointed missionaries through TEAM (The Evangelical Alliance Mission, team.org) and are serving long-term in the Czech Republic in the capital city of Prague. After serving on staff in local churches in Missouri and Oklahoma for the past 13 years, God called our family to the foreign mission field, and we are so excited to see what He has in store in the years to come! As one of the world’s most atheistic and agnostic countries, less than 1% of the people of the people of the Czech Republic are evangelical Christians…the Gospel of Jesus Christ is desperately needed. Our role in Prague is focused on church planting, discipleship, and ministering through our musical gifts, with our first couple of years focused on learning the Czech language and culture.

Our Story

A pastor once said, “Put your ‘yes’ on the table and let God put it on the map.” And that’s how our journey began.

In 2019, we knew that God was telling us to put our ‘yes’ on the table regarding a new calling on our lives. Through our experiences serving in ministry in local churches, Kelli’s upbringing as a missionary kid, and our involvement in many different short-term mission projects over the years, God has cultivated a passion in our hearts for missions. So we began researching various missions agencies and God led us to TEAM. While we weren’t 100% sure at the time, we believed God was calling us to the mission field, so we got connected with one of TEAM’s missions coaches and started a conversation.

During that time, God also began doing some really unexpected things in our lives (like selling our home when we didn’t even have it on the market), and really at every turn making it clear that He was calling us to the foreign mission field, and we ultimately surrendered to that call. Early on, we didn’t have clarity about where God was sending us, and so we prayed fervently for God to give us a burden for a specific people and place of service. Through TEAM we began learning about the spiritual condition of some countries in Europe and the great need for the Gospel and establishing missional churches there. Through that time God gave us the burden that we were asking him for. After more prayer and conversations, He ultimately led us to the Czech Republic and has called us as long-term missionaries to this country, where we are serving alongside a team of other missionaries and church planters in the capital city of Prague!

The People & Ministry Focus

The Czech Republic ranks as one of the most atheistic and agnostic countries in the world. With a population of almost 11 million people, less than 1% are evangelical Christians and around 80% are atheistic, with no belief in God whatsoever. These statistics broke our hearts, and we have a passion to reach the Czech people with the Gospel and love of Christ. Our first couple of years here are focused on learning the Czech language and culture, and our long-term ministry focus is church planting, discipleship, and ministering through our musical gifts.

While we believe that God has used all of our experiences to help prepare us and that He has uniquely gifted us for this calling, we also believe He will use this to stretch us and deepen our faith and dependence on Him. Our ultimate desire is that we would be faithful to whatever God wants to do in and through us.

Partner With Us

Would you consider partnering with us in reaching the Czech people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ? One of the ways you can do that is by praying for us. We believe that prayer is powerful and effective, and we know that we will need many people faithfully lifting our family up in prayer on a regular basis. Another way you can partner with us is financially by joining our monthly support team or by giving single gifts. There’s a quote that says, “Some give by going, others go by giving. Without both, there are no missions.” If you would like to partner with us by supporting us financially, CLICK HERE.

Acts 13:47 says, “For this is what the Lord has commanded us: “‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’” Help us be the light of Christ and bring the Good News to the Czech Republic.
